Job Description

This position is a sales and brand ambassador role focusing on growth in our corporate business and off-premise sales. This is a customer-facing position that requires strengthening relationships with existing accounts while dynamically developing and building new relationships, creating a comprehensive sales strategy and tracking sales growth objectives and goals, managing a customer database to optimize growth, and achieving targeted sales goals. The ideal candidate for this position is passionate about building relationships and making sales, has stellar interpersonal skills, is innovative and goal-oriented, and has proven 3+ years sales experience in the food industry (and must love cookies). 

 

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute strategic business development and sales plan for corporate clients, with a specific strategy around regular recurring client orders

  • Proactively research, prospect & solicit new business

  • Develop and manage meaningful corporate and catering client relationships, and strengthen relationships with existing clients to maximize client retention

  • Schedule and conduct off-site tastings and follow-ups with potential clients

  • Utilize existing data to create a more robust CRM to accurately forecast monthly sales and improve tracking of performance metrics and goals

  • Consistently meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals

  • Create and provide regular sales updates and reports 

  • Analyze current sales and business development operations and strategies, revamp and innovate where necessary

  • Negotiate prices and create and execute contracts with clientele 

  • Utilize existing professional network to onboard new clients

  • Liaise with production, marketing, sales, front-of-house, and finance teams 

  • Ensure seamless execution of all orders and deliveries 

  • Be able to clearly and authentically communicate Ovenly’s values and speak to the company’s products and mission. 

  • Provide feedback, analyze sales data, identify areas of opportunity, and remove obstacles to achievement of revenue goals

  • Assess offerings to reflect seasonal, pricing and other logistical data along with best-practices and competitive analysis and market trends

  • Maintain excellent and prompt customer service at all times

 

Qualifications

  • 3+ years direct sales and business development experience in the Food, Catering, and/or Restaurant Industry

  • Detailed knowledge of the corporate catering and events industry in NYC with industry and vendor contacts in order to drive business upon starting.

  • Proven and successful sales record of building and executing sales strategies based on KPIs

  • Excellent customer service and verbal/written communication skills

  • Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines, even in an unstructured environment

  • Self-motivated with superior analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Detail-oriented and comfortable creating and maintaining spreadsheets, sales reporting, and CRM databases 

  • Believes in and is able to articulate company mission and values

  • Self-starter comfortable with performance targets in unstructured environments

  • Passionate about food, baked goods, and social impact

Compensation

  • Base salary + commission, based on experience and individual
