Resident Entrepreneur at Square Roots 1179 views0 applications

Square Roots is accepting applications for a 13 month, full-time entrepreneurship program. The first month of the program will be a learning intensive. Beginning the second month, you will be be paired up with another Resident Entrepreneur to run a fully operational farming business, which consists of growing local, real food in two hydroponic controlled-climate farms located on the Brooklyn campus and supplying a pre-existing customer base through various sales channels. It will be your responsibility to manage, run, and execute the business plan supported by Square Roots. You will learn what it takes to run a fully functional real food business and have the opportunity to innovate and improve on the business plan. We believe well-rounded real food leaders should have experience in the four pillars of Farming, Business, Community, and Leadership; therefore, throughout the year, you will be required to participate in skill-based training, professional development, and experiential learning in each of these pillars.

Minimum requirements include:

  • Must live in New York or be committed to being on our campus in Bed Stuy, Brooklyn several days a  week from October 1st, 2017 – October 31st, 2018

 

  • A minimum commitment of 40 hours per week and flexible availability
  • A minimum of two years professional experience (this can include a combination of summer job, and robust internship or fellowship experience)
  • Available for multiple in-person interviews on our Brooklyn Campus throughout the month of August
  • A commitment to the Square Roots’ mission, vision, and alignment with Square Roots’ values, M.O.s and beliefs
  • A commitment to growing local, real food
  • A desire to meaningfully contribute to the real food community
  • A desire and commitment to engage with and utilize the entire Square Roots platform
