Green Blender is seeking a highly motivated self starter to play a key role in the company’s build out of the procurement team. This role has amazing growth potential. The Regional Buyer will work directly with our Director of Purchasing to execute buys of various goods across all three of our national fulfillment centers.
Essential Functions:
-Work closely with the Director of Procurement and our ops team to make weekly buys of fresh produce, superfoods, and packaging materials for 3 national facilities.
-Manage inventories, invoices, and track cost of goods.
-Execute purchases based on weekly menus, order forecast, and quantity specs.
-Perform quality checks on inbound deliveries, track production progress, and assess shortages.
-Analyze and own weekly food costs to stay within weekly recipe budget
-Monitor product yields to ensure expected usage and quality
-Minimize shrinkage/spoilage of perishable products; obtain credit from suppliers where applicable for returned, damaged or spoiled goods; coordinate storage of items to be returned to suppliers
Requirements:
-Bachelor’s Degree
-Strong analytical and negotiation abilities
-1-3 years of produce buying experience
-Deep understanding of the produce industry
-Attention to detail and organization
-Ability to self-motivate and problem solve in a fast-paced setting filled with hard deadlines
