The Role
AKUA’s Operation’s Director will be responsible for managing our operations & supply chain as our company is ramping up for significant growth this year. (Are you ready to crush it with us?) The ideal person for this job will demonstrate strong leadership skills and a passion for our mission as they work with our executive team to ensure that our company’s operations & logistics are keeping up with our sales goals – across ecommerce, wholesale, and retail. This is a growth opportunity, perfect for someone looking to work for a high-impact food company and move up into an Executive position within 12-18 months.
Including:
-
Manage supply chain including production planning, procurement, & fulfillment

Work with Product team to source the best possible ingredients while balancing cost-effective margins

Manage vendors including co-packers, packaging & raw material suppliers, & 3PLs

Create systems and processes to successfully track operational metrics & KPIs
-
Manage forecast and demand planning with CFO

Implement quality assurance practices on all delivered goods

Work with CEO to ensure our company operations meet all sales targets

Support sales team as needed including with invoicing, inventory tracking, & more
What’s required
-
3-5+ years of experience in operations management with food/CPG experience (plant-based is a plus!)

Excitement, optimism, and scrappiness required to build and scale a mission-oriented consumer goods company

Can-do attitude with the ability to handle stressful situations (without getting stressed – we’re just trying to save the world with Kelp Burgers after all!)

Strong analytical & organizational skills as well as communication skills

Loves planning. Loves packaging. Loves details. Loves Asana, Airtable and/or spreadsheets.

Knowledge of logistics & supply chain management, & inventory management systems

Solid understanding of food-related laws including FDA

Loves the ocean & wants to make a difference for the history of our species & the future of our planet.
