ABOUT THE JOB
Recently named a Fast Track 100 Company by the
Sunday Times, as well as one of Europe’s Fastest Growing companies by the Financial
Times, we are expanding quickly across all the regions we operate in. Having
successfully launched in US in March of this year we are now looking for an MD
to run our US business based in Brooklyn, NY.
Reporting to the CEO, you
will be instrumental in the development and strategic direction of the US
business. With solid experience in a commercially focused senior role, you will
have full P&L ownership and be responsible for all aspects of the business.
A charismatic and inspirational leader, you will
lead our growing team and build a strong, collaborative work ethic whilst
nurturing and developing our company culture.
Given the vast potential, the US market is one
of our key strategic priorities and therefore you will be integral to our
success. This role provides a great opportunity for you to develop the business
from an early stage and build the region from the ground up. This will include,
whilst working with our Heads of Sourcing, Operations and Sales, the
development of an innovative supply chain, building scalable operations
processes and systems, as well as driving customer growth. Building
relationships with key industry leaders whilst developing partnerships will be
critical to the role as will be the financial health of the business as we
build a sustainable, profitable business model.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing
and delivering the strategic direction for growth with and through a high
performing executive team - Overall
responsibility for the running of all aspects of the company - Financial
management with full P&L responsibility - Overseeing the development
and management of our people
Our ideal candidate is a formidable leader, extremely
willing to lead from the front and by example, strategically minded and with a
great ability to manage people. You will have excellent communication skills,
and demonstrate empathy and a passion to grow people, whilst relishing the
challenges of a fast-growing business. This role requires an extremely hands on
approach given the early stages of the US business, allowing you to demonstrate
true leadership. As such, we will be
looking for the following traits in our successful candidate:
- Several
years’ experience leading an organization of significant size from the
startup phase - Superb
communication and presentation skills - Demonstrating
an ability to think creatively and strategically - Experience
structuring organizations through growth phases - Experience
in developing and delivering successfully a project from inception - Superb people management skills
