The Challenge

Smallhold is in the process of a national scale-up,
producing more and more mushrooms in more and more places. Amidst this rapid
growth, our Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager will take our already
high standards to the next level. We are looking for an experienced and
knowledgeable food safety connoisseur who can confidently and independently
reinvent and oversee our national program. This unique position involves
moderate travel to our various locations.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years in a similar capacity authoring and overseeing food safety and
    quality assurance programs
  • Proven, extensive food safety knowledge. Experience with produce specifically is a
    plus
  • Experience with SQF/GFSI and GAP/GHP strongly desired
  • Experience writing HACCP plans
  • Organic Certification experience preferred
  • Knowledge of and experience with worker safety requirements. OSHA training and
    general knowledge are a plus
  • Scientific mindset and experience running experiments and tests
  • Exceptional written communication skills. You can write an SOP in your sleep
  • Strong communication and presentation skills. Ability to communicate technical
    information in simple terms
  • Good reasoning and sound judgment abilities
  • Experience with packaging is a plus
  • Startup experience is a plus
