is looking for a Director of Operations who is ready to play an integral role
bringing this delicious and transformative brand to market.
As a member of the Executive Team, the Director of Operations
will report directly to the CEO and bring Eat the Change® products to life by
overseeing all operations, including: purchasing, manufacturing warehousing,
inventory, forecasting , and distribution.
The ideal candidate is a high-performing multi-tasker:
passionate, experienced in all aspects
of food production and operations, and eager to play a hands-on role in the
rapid growth of the brand and company.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Leading all production planning and logistics, including: forecasting,
purchasing, supplier management, warehousing, inventory, manufacturing, and
distribution
- Coordinating product development and commercialization –
working in partnership with our culinary team to convert kitchen recipes to
scaled production
- Supporting continuous improvement efforts in
production with an emphasis on accuracy, productivity, and safety
- Managing and improving gross margins – driving a continual process toward
margin optimization, particularly with respect to cost of goods and freight
- Managing, qualifying, and expanding co-manufacturing and supplier partners
- Managing and improving quality control initiatives
- Defining, tracking, and ensuring compliance
with industry-leading health and safety standards
- Managing and expanding the operations team
- Obtaining and maintaining all certifications, including
organic and kosher
- Serving as a member of the senior management team –
participating in all meetings and deliberations with respect to organizational
strategy
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience leading all aspects of operations within a
food company: supply chain,
manufacturing, warehousing, inventory, and distribution
- 8+ years of experience in operations, with 3+ years of leadership experience
preferred
- Comfortable with ambiguity and eager to take ownership and drive results; experience in start-up environments preferred
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, planning, and
logistical skills
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills;
passionate about leading a team, collaborating across functions, and
facilitating supplier and manufacturing relationships
- Intelligent, proactive, trustworthy, and hard-working
- Passionate about our mission to empower consumers to
choose (and enjoy!) foods that align with their concerns around climate change
and health
