We’re looking for a passionate community builder to join our team and provide best-in-class support to the Foodworks community as we expand to new locations. Our growing network of kitchen spaces provides members with the tools to grow their food businesses and the opportunity to join a community of diverse food makers and mentors. There are two roles available – one in Providence, RI and one in Newark, NJ. Strong knowledge of the local and regional community is a must, and remote/relocation is not available.
About the role:
As part of the Foodworks Member Experience team, the Community Manager is responsible for guiding members through every part of their journey. This includes everything from managing inbound applications and questions, to helping members navigate getting the ins and outs of starting a food business, giving tours of the space, and cultivating community through events, outreach, and engagement on digital platforms. Above all else, the Community Manager ensures that member needs, no matter how big or how small, are handled with care, compassion, and creativity.
As part of a small team in a new location, our Community Managers will have the opportunity to take their deep understanding of the local food community’s needs and truly build something from scratch, while tapping into the insights, knowledge, and resources of our central Community organization and network of Community Managers. As a distributed team, we regularly come together both online and offline to help build a better Foodworks and ensure the learnings of each kitchen’s community are shared across the company.
Qualities we’re looking for in you:
- You’re an excellent project manager, planner, and a doer: You’re the person people turn to when they need help figuring out how to get something done. You can take on any size project and adapt solutions based on available people, resources, time, and budget.
- You’re a flawless communicator: Whether it’s in person, online, or on the phone, you possess an uncanny ability to navigate context-changes without skipping a beat. You’re equally comfortable talking to a contractor, a small business owner, or the press, and you know how to communicate in every situation.
- You understand how diverse the food community is, and that’s why you love it: Food is a language that speaks to us all, and its ability to bring different people from different worlds together is a foundation you’re excited to build upon.
- You’re *that* person – you’re a community builder because you’ve experienced the magic that happens when people come together to take on a challenge that’s bigger than themselves, and can’t wait to help others become part of a community.
