Who are we – Blackbird Foods is a plant-based meat and frozen pizza company founded by Blackbird Pizzeria in Philly along with fellow NYC restaurateurs. What started as a small passion project to make high quality, clean label seitan available to restaurants in the northeast led to diners requesting the products for their homes. Blackbird Foods then began packaging 4 of its seitan varieties for grocery stores along with 4 varieties of its plant-based pizza. All Blackbird products are made at our own facility in New York City.
What you’ll do
In this role, you will work closely with Blackbird’s CEO . You will develop and implement new sales strategies to get in front of retail and foodservice buyers. You will manage relationships with existing brokers, seek out new brokers to sign, and maintain relationships with current customers, distributors, and buyers. You will forecast demand, cold pitch, and take on new tasks and challenges as they arise.
To find success in this role, you will…
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy
- Create pitch decks and collateral to share with leads
- Maintain schedules of category reviews
- Compile relevant sales and market data to present
- Develop distributor and store-level promotion strategies along with new store placement pricing
- Maintain monthly reports and KPIs to share with the team and investors.
- Create a cohesive pricing strategy for all products
- Manage and seek out new brokers
- Manage existing brokers to ensure Blackbird is at the top of their minds and part of their buyer pitches
- Find new brokers that will pitch Blackbird products into relevant markets
- Ensure samples are scheduled and sent out to appropriate leads in a timely manner
- Grow sales through cold pitching
