All Clover locations within a single region report to an Area Manager, who must have the ability and experience to mentor, inspire and grow large teams of people to create beautiful food and customer experiences.

As an Area Manager, you’ll be responsible for a number of bustling restaurant operations. And be the point of mentorship to individual business units, each run by their own General Manager. You will be leading a team of 150+ employees while assisting with recruiting and team development. Additionally, you will have up to 5 General Managers reporting to you, each in charge of their own restaurant and team.

You’ll work closely with other senior leaders and departments to support growth, compliance, and development of your locations to drive positive team performance.


All Area Managers are required to:

  • Manage multiple Clover locations through General Managers
  • Review performance of locations through daily and weekly check-ins
  • Maximize sales and profitability
  • Control the training and development of team
  • Maintaining and increasing the Clover standard of customer service
  • Report directly to the COO regarding performance of location
  • Join team in day-to-day restaurant duties
  • Provide your team with a stimulating and supportive environment

Skills & Experience

Area Managers must have:

  • Willingness to recruit, onboard, and build
  • 3+ years of past experience in a General Manager position or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in an Area Manager or Operations position or equivalent
  • A passion for food, a positive attitude and a willingness to work to high standards
  • Experience excelling at managing a single Clover location
  • ServSafe certified, current certificate
  • Choke safe, allergen awareness certified
  • Willingness to become fully trained in all Clover Assistant Manager & General Manager roles by way of a full in-store experience
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead others
  • Excellent skills with technology and data analysis
  • Comfortable with Microsoft excel
  • Acute financial management skills
  • Decision-making abilities and a sense of responsibility
  • Planning and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead others
  • Experience developing strong teams
  • Passion for developing meaningful relationships with community
  • Enjoy being on the ground, rolling you sleeves up and getting the job done

We want food to taste the way it should. You have no idea how great a carrot can taste. If you get the right carrot and it’s handled properly it’s just incredible. Or coffee. If you get the right coffee brewed the right way it can be delicious black, balanced, sweet, bitter, maybe nutty or fruity.
